Beware of WoW

Ok, I've decided to put some light on the most dangerous threats of this century - no, it's not wars, terrorists, global warming, tsunami waves or earthquakes. I'm talking about an extremely dire insidious threat. The disguised demons eating our children's souls. Yes, I'm talking about Them. The computer games! Especially the menacing yet addictive MMORPGS and their king - World of Warcraft.

Let's start with the numbers. The monthly fee is $15. There are over 11 million subscribers. Yes, I know. It must feel goood to make $165,000,000 a month plus the price of the bought games and expansions. Deaths caused by WoW: at least 10 reported. http://www.fibonaccisys.com/WoW_report.php Oh, it looks like a really dangerous game! People die because of playing for 50 hours straight? Or they play all the time the're not asleep? Wow, that must be the game's fault! I'm pretty sure those people were mentally healthy and had interesting lives, but then - suddenly - they were forced to play and couldn't stop. What an evil game!

And millions of children play the game instead of socialising, playing with their friends outside and doing sports. You know what's best to do in such a situation? Force your kids to go out and make friends. Because having friends is normal! And forcing them into sports is even better, who cares if all the bigger kids bully them? It's not important to win, but to stay there, waste your childhood and probably develop a mental trauma that will haunt you through the rest of your life. I'm glad to live in such enlightened times. The society has decided what's normal and what's bad for me so I don't have to overwork my poor brain. Now we should go and burn all the game servers so that we save the next generation from Bad Influence!
